Walked up a little hill nearby – only a 4 km circuit. A group of local children were delighted to
show us where the path up the hill started, lucky that they did as we would
definitely have missed it,. The climb up
the hill was actually quite strenuous as the sun was glaring but the clouds had
come over in time for the route down so it was really quite pleasant.
We ended up having to get back to camp sharpish though as it
actually started to rain and we had a washing line full of washing! It felt like home huddled under the awning
sheltering from a downpour.
Afternoon spent lazing in the hot springs and drinking a
cool beer in the bar.
Tried swimming but at 42 degrees it was a bit too hot!!
The path to the springs has two red ant trails and despite knowing full well they are there I managed to step on one – it hurts!!! At the bar we met a German lady who was also camping. She is much braver than me as she travels around Southern Africa for 3-6 months on her own every year!
We had booked dinner at the lodge and were served a delicious
Chinese banquet which we ate with Mel. Mark had had to go back to Buffalo Camp
to look after the final guests and had had to give up his tree house as he had
inadvertently taken down one too many chalets (we didn’t laugh too much!).
